North American Natives "Random Memories"

"Random Memories of North American Natives"

from
"He Walked The Americas"
by L.Taylor Hansen

THESE ARE a series of memories; a word or two dropped in passing.
The Pawnee remember the Prophet who came and taught them of His Father: the Mighty Holy of the Heavens. He told them not to forsake His precepts, and when they returned again to warfare, they thought often of His predictions, of how war but breeds more carnage. Even then He foretold the coming of white man. The Pawnee remember Him as Paruxti and His Father as Tirawa. They know that they disobeyed Him and they pray to Him in anguish.

The Algonkin of the Eastern Seaboard, when asked how they got their name for the Dawn Light, say that it was the name of the Pale One, They would not give Him their own name, as He has asked them, for to Him names ment nothing and He allowed each tribe to name Him. They asked instead His name in childhood when He lived across the ocean. The name He gave them was a strange one, hard to say in their liquid language, so today they try hard to say it; Chee-Zoos, God of the Dawn Light.

The Algonkin of the Great Lakes remember well the pale Great Master. The Chippewa say He gave them many medicine lodges whose signs and symbols are secret, fashioned from those across the ocean, and even today they hold this secret knowledge.

Even the proud Dakotah, they of the Turtle Totem, leading north the line of Serpents in their age-old migration, recall in long - lost adoration the sacred name of the pale faced Healer.
"It was long ago that we knew Him. He gave to us our rite of baptism, many of our lodges, and our rites of purification. When He came to us the days were warmer; the sun cast down shorter shadows. Well do we remember how He foretold the coming of the white man, and other predictions. We have backslid from His teachings, but to Him we dance the Sun Dance. We remember Great Wakona well."

Memories of my Grandfather Durwood F. Huls

My Grandfather was told such stories of the Healer, the Great Spirit, The God of Wind and Water, and from his childhood were such stories as we find contained in "He Walked The Americas" and other places as well. And of a group of peoples like the Algonkin's who had populated lands from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean from the Great Lakes area's down towards what are now the southern states of America. These people where destroyed by our Ancestor's and our allies. Of great battles and struggles as well as when the Great Pale Son of God the Father came and walked amongst them teaching them Peace, love, goodness, medicines and much more, as well as prophecies of the white man coming. Grandfather spoke little of this as in his days it was un-healthy to be part Native American and he received abuse and ill will when it was known, so he kept it hidden for most of his life, and yet he briefly told us once in his later years that the Elders would share stories of the Ancestors and that they were the same stories as were told in a book that was gifted him by our Great Grandfather Knudsen.
One day my Grandfather was given a present by his Father-in-law on August 23,1948
In the cover of the book he wrote a note: Happy Birthday to you From, Dad Knudsen "Prove all things and Hold fast to that wich is good."
He read this book and found inside it did contain stories of the legends the Elders did share with him in his youth. About a people that was eventually destroyed in great battles long ago. As he read he did what Dad Knudsen wrote in the cover, he choose to hold onto things that were good.
At the End of this Book there was a Holy man and warrior who left a promise to those who may survive the war he was in, and to the posterity of those who had destroyed his once great nation of peoples. It was his wish that this book come forth to let them know who they were, where they came from and their relation to God in Heaven.
The name recorded in the book was Moroni, and in the 10th chapter of his writings I will share what my Grandfather read.
"1. Now I , Moroni, write somewhat as seemeth me good; and I write unto my brethren, the Lamanites; and I would that they should know that more than four hundred and twenty years have passed away since the sign was given of the coming of Christ.
2. And I seal up these records, after I have spoken a few words by way of exhortation unto you.
3. Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children o fmen, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4. And when ye shall receive these things, I would eshort you that ye sould as God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

And more is written in the book, my Grandfather did as his ancestor suggested and asked God, the Great Spirit, even Christ about what he had read, and what he had been taught in his childhood, and the spirit of truth did speak the truth of it to him in a spiritual way and he knew that God lives, Jesus is the Christ and that this once lost record of his people was true, and that he was blessed to have it gifted to him and one day would lead him to obtaining the Great Gifts of God that his ancestors once had before they backslid from the truths once taught. The record was given to a young boy chosen by the Great spirit in the mid 1820's this young man was guided to a hill in what is now upper state New York, this was the lands of the Algonkin nations, to them it was a sacred hill today we know it as the Hill Comorah. The record was written on metal plates and with the guidance and help of Heaven he was able by the spirit of God to translate the forgotten language found on it. And thus came forth a book to be called after the name of the Father of the Holy warrior who buried it. Today it is known as "The Book of Mormon" Another Testament of Jesus Christ a record of Gods dealings with the ancestors of the Native Americans. I shall add the forward of this book as a minor explanation of it."

Forward:

The Book of Mormon, An account written by The Hand of Mormon, upon plates taken from the plates of Nephi.
Wherefore, it is an abridgment of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites - Written to the Lamanites, who are a remnant of the house of Israel; and also to Jew and Gentile - Written by way of commandment, and also by the spirit of prophecy and of revelation - Written and sealed up, and hid up unto the Lord, that they might not be destroyed - To come forth by the gift and power of God unto the interpretation thereof - Sealed by the hand of Moroni, and hid up unto the Lord, to come forth in due time by way of the Gentile - The interpretation thereof by the gift of God.
An abridgment taken from the Book of Ether also, which is a record of the people of Jared, who were scattered at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people, when they were building a tower to get to heaven - Which is to show unto the remnant of the House of Israel what great things the Lord hath done for their fathers; and that they may know the covenants of the Lord, that they are not cast off forever - And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations - And now, if there are faults they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment - seat of Christ.

These Two sacred or Holy books speak of the same God, same Gospel of Jesus Christ upon both hemisphere's of Earth, God loves his children so much that he sent his Son to teach us his will to all of us. These two witness's share and bond the truth that Jesus is the Christ and Lord of Heaven and Earth and both are to help us realize his love and his guide lines on how to live good happy lives here on Earth. The Stick of Judah (Holy Bible) and the Stick of Ephraim (Book of Mormon) as prophesied of old have in fact come together into one stick, scroll, or book they are together now.

Many things have been said about this book, many incorrect idea's based on a lack of knowledge or a desire to malign and to hide the possible truths God as given to mankind, I only say Read the book for yourself, and if your Native American, or know of their stories compare and see as I have the similarities. Then if you sincerely want to know if it is true do as mentioned above by Moroni. God does answer sincere prayers. Take no mans word, listen to God for truth.
